I am really happy that American Lance Armstrong was the first cyclist to win the Tour de France six times. And it amazes me that he seems to put on his best performance when riding in the mountains.
I was surprised to read how close the so called fans are to the cyclists. Some German "fans" were close enough to spit on Lance as he rode by. Last year he fell off his bike when the handle bar got caught up in the strap of a bag a fan was carrying. That could have cost him the race, but luckily he was able to gain his lead again the next day.
